Glenn Murphy started his musical training at the age of 9 years old when he joined a local choir. It was this experience of making music with other people that spurred his love of music and performing, and led him to the many wonderful opportunities he has been granted so far.
After playing numerous theatre roles in his hometown of Waterford City, Glenn moved to Dublin to study music in University College Dublin. It was here that he was granted a choral scholarship with the Choral Scholars of University College Dublin as well as a UCD Ad Astra Performing Arts Solo Scholarship. This gave Glenn the opportunity to travel to many countries in Europe and beyond representing the university and performing on various world stages, including the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Upon his graduation from UCD, Glenn, along with his friend Ronan, experienced the whirlwind of being brought onstage by famed singer Adele to perform a medley of her songs in front of 15,000 people at Dublin’s 3 arena.
After this, it was not long until Ellen DeGeneres came calling, and invited them both to Los Angeles to appear on her show and perform. Glenn then had the opportunity to travel the world with the internationally renowned music show “Celtic Woman”, which allowed him to craft his stage artistry and create a show all of his own. It is this show, “From Me to You” that has been a sell out success in recent months and is coming soon to a city near you!
Glenn is passionate about creating an evening of song that will touch your heart and give you a renewed sense of music you may have forgotten. Check local listings in the coming months for tour dates!
